COVID-19 Update 3

COVID-19

Dear Coach House Family

You will no doubt be aware of the increased measures that are in place regarding social distancing and the welfare of those in the high risk categories.

We had a ‘socially distanced prayer’ meeting on Sunday morning which was peaceful and inspiring. We also posted the ‘Sunday Sermon’ on the website, which Daniel Lam recorded for us on Acts 22. If you haven’t listened to it yet, then drop into the website and find it (and others) under ‘talks’.

We were hoping to find a way of doing homegroups in a safe space in the Hub on various nights through the week. We trialled this last Wednesday with the Heaton Chapel Homegroup, which worked really well, however, since then the measures have become such that we need to cancel all homegroups in order to maintain safe environments for everyone.

This also means the prayer meeting and all social groups are cancelled until we come through this.

Therefore the church is entirely on-line and on-phone! We are looking at how we can be creative in our ‘meeting’ together ... so look out for updates.

In the first instance, we will launch daily encouragements from tomorrow called ‘Coach House Beacons’ – beacons of hope in troubled times.

We will be producing these in paper format as well for those who don’t have internet access.

We do not want anyone to be struggling, so if you need anything then please reach out and ask. We already have shopping being done for those who can’t get out and we need to see this support throughout the church. If you know of anyone who we can help then please get in touch.

I have had positive reactions from family, neighbours and friends to our on-line and practical support.

It may not be how we are used to meeting together but we remain ‘church’ and now more than ever, we have the opportunity to be reaching out to those around us.

‘Do not be discouraged or afraid, for the Lord your God goes wherever you go’ (Joshua 1:9)

Keep safe, keep well, remain blessed.

Andy
