COVID-19 Update 2

COVID-19

Hi Everyone

We keep being told that these are unprecedented times .... I won’t go so far as this, but they are certainly times that are somewhat new and challenging for us.

The decision to close the church to are main gatherings has been a difficult one, but necessary for the well being of our physical bodies.

We have taken the decision to look after our spiritual side using technology that is available to us today. The work we have done in the last 12 months at the Coach House will be evident by our ability to do this.

We are aiming to post the sermons from Sundays on our new website and through other media outlets like Facebook and Youtube. If you haven’t checked into www.coachhousechurch.org then do so now and feel part of the family and be blessed as we share with one another.

EPHESIANS 4: 14-21

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. 20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.

We have also tasked the speaking team with issuing daily devotionals/prayer so that we are establishing encouragement for the church.... so look out for these. Coach House Beacons will be their name.

As I write this, I am reminded of the wonderful encouragements we have in Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and even Philemon.  What I mean by this is that these encouragements were done at a distance while Paul was in prison, separated from the church but able to encourage anyway in the knowledge that one day we will be all together ..... and this is a promise of God, not just fanciful thinking!

We will find new ways to communicate and I have a strong feeling that, just as the disciples were forced out of Jerusalem through persecution and as such, brought the gospel to the world, so we too will find ourselves being ‘church’ to a world waiting to hear some good news.

We will come through this, but in the meantime, lets use everything we have to think differently, communicate differently, pray differently and do church differently...... but lets increase everything not decrease!

We have an amazing opportunity to reach out to our neighbours with love and care and to show that Gods church is very much alive and well.

Stay safe, stay well and bless others.

Andy
