God saved you by His grace when you believed.

Fit for Purpose Church
Ephesians 2:8 says…

God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

OK… so here we go...

But here is something I can’t boast about…. I don’t deserve salvation, can’t deserve salvation… I’m just the recipient of Gods goodness (It’s called grace)

God has taken something broken and undeserving and made it new.

…and it doesn’t stop there.

He has a plan for me (and therefore you who are reading this!) … and it’s a plan that has been in place for a long time.

God always intended that we would be reflecting His goodness, bringing the Good news of Jesus into a dark world.

It is Jesus who paid the high price for ALL of mankind’s sin and wrongdoing. I stand in the dock in court rightfully accused of doing wrong (because I am guilty), and yet, just as sentence is about to be passed, Jesus steps forward and takes my punishment (even though He is completely GUILTLESS)!

Why?

Because God loves us, and has never stopped loving us. It was always Gods plan to help us because we can’t help ourselves.

Sometimes we don’t feel like masterpieces.

But we are.
