Church......Let’s define this now.
The building, any building is not ‘the church’ ... THE church is ‘a body of believers’, joined together to speak the truth, to glorify God and teach others about the salvation that is offered through Jesus.
The Greek word for church is EKKLESIA which means gathering or assembly.
The church is not some institution that grants salvation to people, we are simply given the amazing privilege of being Christ and showing Christ to those who do not know the truth.
We are to encourage, teach and build one another up in the knowledge of Jesus Christ ....
So where do you fit in?
For a start, if you have accepted Jesus as your saviour … then you should be a part of church!
Let that sink in for a moment….
You are church…. collective not singular.
Ephesians 2 v 20-21
You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.
The amazing thing is that God is doing the building … it is His design, His blueprint, His Idea.
We can take no credit for it…. but we have to allow God to build with us.
A building isn’t a single brick, but a collection of bricks, carefully placed to a design.
A brick on its own is just a brick! …. But bricks placed together in a design, reflect the designers plan and purpose.
What is church? We are church. Be CHURCH
